Neglect

As Aaron Lewis has said so many times, "it's been a while".  There's really no excuse.  I've had some things going on and, well, let's face it....this blog wasn't one of them.  I'll be more active.

I promise...

Curiosity

They say it killed the cat, but cat's suck, so whatever.  My dog is curious as hell and still alive and kicking.  Just saying..

So remember that whole 335i discussion....well.....

 Yup!

predicaments

That's exactly what I find myself in with my damn car.  I need to sell it and I badly want a 2007-2009 BMW 335i.  My predicament, getting my girlfriend fully on-board with my decision.  She's wavered a bit, from being fully against the idea, to being slightly on-board with my idea, with some of her own demands.  A recent visit to BMW of Newport helped sway her over to my side, thanks to Mark, a friendly salesman.

I realize my blog isn't exciting, but I need for it to first assume it's own identify.  I'm trying to plant the seed and have the water (e.g. my random thoughts) help these seeds to blossom into something bigger and better.  Do I expect anything worthwhile to come of this....Yes.  Do I honestly expect this to lead to any sort of financial gain for myself...yeah, of course.  Are my expectations realistic?  In the words of Michael G. Scott, "Yes. Money has been a little tight lately. But, at the end of my life, when I'm sitting on my yacht, am I gonna be thinking about how much money I have? No. I'm going to be thinking about how many friends I have, and my children, and my comedy albums. I mean, I have a yacht, so I obviously did pretty well money wise."

Oh, and I thought of some more pet peeves of mine, regarding people in the office:
  • the guy who goes out of his way to avoid eye contact, just so he doesn't have to say hi to you
  • the person in the elevator closest to the buttons, who doesn't ask you what floor you'd like
  • people who talk too loud and/or high pitched...luckily, I sit near someone who suffers from both.  She deserves her own entry, which I'll update first thing tomorrow morning

annoyances

a couple of things that I've observed in my daily routines at work...which either annoy me or are straight-up absurd:

  • 40+ year olds who say "Later" to another person after finishing up a conversation.....you aren't 20 anymore, get over it
  • people who wear headphones when they walk around the building, e.g. to the cafe, bathroom, etc.
  • people who wear OVER THE EAR (aka Pauly D DJ headphones) headphones when walking around the building...i'm sorry, are you in Air Traffic Control
  • walking up or down the stairs side-by-side....sure, I'll wait at the bottom of the stairs until you manage to get to the bottom and allow me enough space to get up and finally ascend/descend accordingly
  • more to come....

uncertainty

So yeah, not entirely sure how this all works.  I've never had a blog before, so I'm not familiar with the format or anything of that nature.  I guess I'll go ahead and throw some crap at the wall and see what, if anything, sticks.

You might be wondering to yourself, why "thee Onus".  Well, "The Onus" was taken, why else.  That, and I think Onus is a cool word.  Sounds similar to anus, but the definitions couldn't be any more different:
  • Anus: The opening at the end of the alimentary canal through which solid waste matter leaves the body.
  • Onus: Used to refer to something that is one's duty or responsibility.
See, very different.  Damn near impossible to confuse for one another.  I mean, has your boss ever come up to you and said: "With the deadline looming, the anus is on you to finish up the presentation for our international clients"?  Doubtful.

Ok, so I'll get into a bit of my background later on, but first, let me tell you what I'll be focusing on when updating my "blog":

  • sports
  • cars
  • gadgets/technology
  • movies/television
Those are four of my biggest interests, so why not share them with you.

Before I finish up for now, let me ask you one thing.  What is Dwight Schrute's middle name?

More to follow....
